Dr. Deepti Ghia

Treasurer


Dr. Deepti Ghia is a distinguished dermatologist and holds the position of Treasurer at the Vitiligo Foundation of India. She has an experience of over 15 yrs. in the field of Dermatology and Trichology.

She has completed her Masters in Dermatology and Trichology from the renowned B. Y. L. Nair Hospital in Mumbai. Her commitment to excellence led her to further enhance her skills at prestigious institutes such as the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, U.S.A.

Dr. Ghia's dedication to advancing dermatology is evident through her active involvement in research and innovation. Her contributions have garnered her numerous accolades, including the Dr. Arvind Lonkar Award from IADVL for Best Research Project, the Imrich Sarkany Award from EADV in Krakow, Poland, and recognition from The International Society of Dermatology as a Young Dermatologist. She has also been honored with the A.C Parikh Award and the Asian Pigment Cell Research Award for Best Case Paper. Dr. Ghia has received the Strauss and Katz scholarship as well as the Dr. Adarsh A Kumar supplemental scholarship to the American Academy of Dermatology.

She has been a faculty member and workshop course director at both national and international conferences and has also mentored numerous dermatologists in the specialized field of vitiligo surgery. Since 2009, she has been at the forefront of vitiligo management, employing a holistic approach to provide comprehensive and advanced care for her vitiligo patients.

Her contributions to dermatology extend beyond her clinical practice as she has published numerous articles in both national and international journals, and has authored chapters in dermatology textbooks. Recently, she was a global expert on the Vitiligo Task Force, which published global guidelines for vitiligo management in the Journal of European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.

She has also served as the Joint Secretary of IADVL Maharashtra from 2019 to 2020, and held the position of Joint Secretary of Dermacon International, demonstrating her exceptional organizational skills.

As the Treasurer of the Vitiligo Foundation of India, Dr. Ghia plays a pivotal role in supporting the organization's mission to raise awareness and provide resources for individuals affected by vitiligo.
